Sunday, July 30th 2012 - SACRIFICE - Medical department - 21:30.
Fans roared, clapped and their voices echoed around the Sprint Center. Sacrifice was still going on, but there have been several matches already. The scene opened up at an office they had set up for medical check ups and first aids. By order of EBWF's supremo, the event would have a medical department properly equipped with first aid kits and an ambulance, given the amount of hardcore matches that could end badly... Which definitely was the case with Trent Barreta's hardcore match, which ended up moments ago. Having him laying on his stomach on top of an examination bed, still wearing his wrestling gear. Dr. Clemente assessed the patient, she had looked the match, so there wasn't a need to ask him much.
He felt like his mom was nagging him... Trent was laying back inside the arena's medical department, getting a quick checkup before he went to the hotel, it was routinary to get first aid after such brutal matches, apparently Dr. Clemente was having a busy night with Cena and Punk going at it as she checked on Trent and Bully Ray.
Trent Barreta: How is he?
Dr. Hope Clemente: He took a nasty bump, but he will be alright... This wasn't personal right?
Trent shook his head.
Trent Barreta: If you have a cat and a mouse there's gonna be turmoil... Bully is the cat and Trent is the mouse...
He shrugged a little, but only halfway as he felt a burning pain running up his spine.
Trent Barreta: Ouch...
Dr. Hope Clemente: Your opponent had some lacerations and a couple of deep cuts, no arterial bleeding... Kendo stick bruises... And the occasional glass shard on his back... Which reminds me... Turn around please.
Trent flipped over, now laying on his stomach... Her cold hands covered in latex slowly explored his back, bruised and battered from the intense fight. She found a glass shard inside his skin and proceeded to use pincers to take it out... She cleaned the wound with alcohol, making him yelp.
Dr. Hope Clemente: How come you didn't complain about it when you landed on the glass?
Dr. Clemente finished cleansing the wounds and bandaging them, she gave Trent a couple of stitches on his shoulder after some incident with barbed wire. Trent hated stitches, needles and alcohol on an open wound, but he took it like a champ, with the occasional groan and tight facial expresion. After covering his stitched wound, Clemente smiled.
Dr. Hope Clemente: You'll be as good as new in no time! Now, I must go check on Mark... You have visit!
With him on his stomach and his eyes tightly shut to allow the Doc to work her carnage ways of healing which involved stitches and alcohol, Trent didn't realize someone has been standing there all along.
A.J.: ...Did that hurt? It REALLY looked like it hurt. Looks like it hurts right now too...
The rather tiny EBWF Diva peeked over with her hands folded underneath her waist. She winced slightly at the stitches and flashed a quick, nervous smile.
A.J.: ...But...like...it was cool. I mean, not cool that you got hurt. But, ya know, cool that you proved your toughness and stuff.
A.J. flexed a small muscle with one of her arms.
A.J.: I bet you have Bully's respect now too...
It was impossible for him not to recognize that voice! He slowly used his elbows to lift his upper body, his head turning towards her, offering a smile.
Trent Barreta: I was a star... I stood up! Do you remember who gave me that advice?
He chuckled softly.
A.J.: Erm, well, yeah but I didn't know that being a star involved barbed wire and glass and kendo sticks and stuff!
She sighed and glanced down at her feet. A.J. lifted her head slightly as some of her hair dangled downwards.
A.J.: I want to hug you but I think it might hurt...
He was sitting up as she spoke, he sat on the examination table and reached out to grab her delicate hands, pulling her towards him slowly.
Trent Barreta: Nothing involving you could ever hurt me.
He looked down at her and smiled, sliding his arms from her wrists to her sides. She beamed a rather wide smile that she couldn't help but keep from appearing on her face.
A.J.: Shuuuut up or you're going to make me blush...
After sliding forward, she wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face into the crook of his shoulder for a moment before lifting her head.
A.J.: Pleeeease be careful. Keep doing almost, bad ass, guy stuff but please don't get hurt...
He looked down at her and nodded.
Trent Barreta: I think it is time I take it down a notch you know... And you can't blame for wanting to make you blush, you look extremely cute then that happens...
He smiled at her, holding his thumb against her chin softly. She leaned forward and placed a soft kiss onto his lips before allowing her forehead to rest upon his own.
A.J.: If you can go without jumping off something into a pit of razors and snakes...find me. We'll go out and grab some grubs, aiiiight?
He nodded, there wasn't a need for words... He slowly placed a kiss on her forehead and smiled again. The bruises, cuts and glass shards locked up on the backseat on his mind.
AUGUST 1ST, 2012 - EBWF.NET EXCLUSIVE PROMO.
The scene opened up backstage, Trent was sitting over a big wooden crate, his Triforce custom made Breakout title resting over his lap. His right arm bandaged up, a bandaid on his forehead, and bruises on his left arm and his right cheekbone, all of them because of the brawl he sustained with Bully Ray. He raised his look to meet the lens of the camera and smiled.
Trent Barreta: Hey guys... Thanks for joining me. As you probably know, this will be the third title defense in less than two weeks. I've had formidable opponents trying to beat me by any means necessary... The most recent, Bully Ray.
Trent sighed.
Trent Barreta: I'm all battered and beat up because Bully proved he would do anything to get this title belt. This belt no one cared about, no one thought would be a stepping stone to something bigger... I am happy to have established a decent legacy and restore the belt's prestige... It's been a long way since Glacier was champion... You never think about these kind of things until a barbed wire bat strikes your leg, but I am probably not going to be the Breakout champion forever... Not because I don't want to... I have had a blast holding this belt, winning it at WrestleMania, having my WrestleMania moment that same night... But it's time to face some facts.
Trent gazed down at his belt.
Trent Barreta: This belt was created for up and coming talent. This belt is meant to be owned by someone who has just arrived here to EBWF and looks forward to making a name of himself... You know, if we rewinded a few months back, no one knew who Trent Barreta was... By the time I participated in King of the Ring everyone's boogeyman was "that guy who has never been pinned since he signed an EBWF contract in January"... My chance to become King of the Ring did not materialize thanks to the interference of two bullies we all know, but that's a story for another day. This Breakout belt I earned means a lot to me, whoever holds it after I do has to make sure it is as important as it is now that I am holding it. You know, I chose the triforce symbol because it has perfection stated all over it... It is made from triangles, which are considered perfect geometric figures by the ancient egyptians. These tree triangles here...
Trent slid his fingers along the triforce triangles slowly.
Trent Barreta: These Triangles represent Courage, Wisdom and Power... And it was what I wanted to inspire with my ring ability and my career. Hell, I am only 25 years old, so there's not much wisdom I can offer, at least not outside of a videogame... But I am confident I will get there, eventually. Power, well... You guys have seen what I am capable of doing if you stir me the wrong way, or if you motivate me... I will not back down, no matter how bigger and stronger my opponent seems to be... Last but not least, Courage... I'm getting a grip on that last one after standing up to Bully Ray, I have to admit... But I'm still a long way from being a courageous man... A man with enough courage to take on a quest to become World Champion, or become EBWF's next Raven, HBK or Triple H...
Trent smiled a little more, daydreaming of being an EBWF Legend.
Trent Barreta: I don't need a belt with a triforce painted on it to remember these three things I need to have in order to be a bigger man... The breakout title can't become one with me, because it has nothing more to give me, and I have nothing more to give to it... I can't take this title with me and move on to bigger things either, because I would be selfish with newcomers who deserve a shot at being dubbed "EBWF's next breakout star".
Trent raised his belt, placing the light blue leather strap over his shoulder.
Trent Barreta: On Friday I will defend my belt with honor, I will put my championship on the line against Evan Bourne. Had he not suffered an unfortunate interference during our match prior to Sacrifice he could already be Breakout champion... I just hope Bully Ray learnt his lesson about messing with me, bullying me and pushing me around. I would like to take a moment to congratulate Evan Bourne on his fierce efforts since his arrival to the EBWF, he is a promising athlete who has been willing to help EBWF become bigger and better... It is a real honor for me to put my title on the line... Like on Metal Gear Solid 2, when Raiden is joined by snake and both take out the Soldiers inside Arsenal Gear right before the huge ass fight against the 30 something Metal Gear RAYs on Extreme Difficulty? Yup... That's how I feel. Evan tore the house down with Christian last Sunday and I believe he wants to put up a huge match for Friday! I always love to deliver... Even though right now I feel I am being champion on borrowed time... I feel as if this was the closing pages of a chapter in my EBWF career... Evan, we have the canvas, you can work some great moves in it, and I always like jumping and leaping off from the air from time to time... So how about we write up a great story and see if it is worth of closing this chapter Entitled... Breakout?
He shrugged.
Trent Barreta: Now, Evan Bourne will be poised to be Breakout champ... As I was when I got the number one contendership. He has been here for almost a month now and I think he will be looking forward to shock the world and be the next Breakout star... I am going to ask a few questions and I really hope Evan Bourne answers in the ring! Is he ready for busy flights signing autographs and greeting fans? Is he ready to step up for EBWF whenever he's needed to? Is he ready to fend off all of the people who are going to try and shoot him down and take his spot? Is Evan Bourne ready to continue with the tradition of the Breakout Title? Will be fight for it with his life so it doesn't become cursed again, held by oldies like Glacier and the Undertaker? If the answer to all of those questions I just asked is: Yes... Then I would be more than glad to welcome Evan in the ring at Total Recall as the number one contender for the Breakout Title.
Trent smiled a the scene faded.
