"This quest... Is far from over..."
The tron lit up to display one of EBWF's interviewers, Matt Stryker, who had a loose black tie with a matching black jacket. He looked into the camera.
Matt Striker: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, Trent Barreta.
The camera panned out and a small pop from the crowd could be heard as Trenty was displayed on the tron... Arms folded. You could tell he had grown his beard over the pat few weeks... Trenty wore one of his 8 Bit T-shirts and his black/dodgerblue wrestling trunks, his title nowhere to be seen...
Matt Striker: Trent, tonight you will defend your Breakout title for the first time ever against two men you have matched up against and who you know thoroughly... JTG and Curt Hawkins.
Footage of JTG's victory against the triple threat match they competed on when Trent arrived on the EBWF were displayed on the screen, Trent on his knees, watching the much taller and buffer JTG celebrate the pinfall against a downed Evan Bourne... The image soon switched to Trent.
Trent Barreta: Yup... That horrifying 1 on my record thanks to him... I guess I'll have to live with it forever... You know that was one of my very first matches as a singles competitor in EBWF12'? In my defense I would say I was getting used to the new features and the controls of the last installment where I was Tag Champ, yes... Anyway, once I grabbed a hold of it I have done pretty well, don't you think? I've had a fair amount of victories, had a match at WrestleMania...
Matt Striker: Without a doubt... You are currently unbeaten, you're the Breakout champion and the EBWF fans can't wait to see where your tag team with Zack Ryder is going... We hope it is Tag team gold.
Trent Barreta: I hope so too... But you know, Zack and I need to level up just a tad more, get a grip of some updated equipment before we embark on that journey... The matter at hand is the Breakout title defense... There is nothing more vital for me at this point. I am about to go out there and deliver a message that will change the way people see the Breakout Championship -Literally. Now, me defending this title involves a couple of opponents which I've had a past with in and out of the ring... Tonight the EBWF Universe will see JTG and me once again in a ring... You know, I think JTG has a bigger mouth than Kirby and Birdo... While he has been ranting about swag, style and whatnot... I've been out there, putting my pixelated ass on the line to get the respect... After being taken as a videogame doofus, you know I had quite a task to accomplish on my mission to make people respect me... But today some people look at me differently! All I had to do was beat the crap out of half of the EBWF locker room... Sounds easy huh? Anyway, I have a feeling that some guys in the back still doubt me. They take me for granted and think I'm a joke... I'd gladly meet any of them in the ring whenever they want... The least I expect from JTG tonight it to take me seriously, after all I've beaten him every single time we've met... He's been loud on the mic, gangsta loud! But he forgot that the real talking is down out there in the squared circle... Do you think that after a gazillion matches I give a rat's tail about his Swag or his size? Look at me! I'm a FREAKIN' champion!
Trent smiled into the camera.
Matt Striker: Speaking of which, where is your EBWF Breakout title which will be on the line in tonight's match?
Trent Barreta: Matt, I already told you! I'm on my way out to unveil a very pleasant surprise for the people out there... So you'll see the Breakout title once I'm out there... I promise!
Trent flashed a smile at the camera.
Matt Striker: So, how are you planning to get the best out of your opponents tonight? What is the factor that will help you come on top and remain Breakout champion?
Trent Barreta: You know I gave it a lot of thought... And you know what I need to do to up my game?
Matt Striker: What is that?
Trent Barreta: Easy! I'll just have to taunt a lot! Celebrate and taunt, taunt, taunt and taunt!
Matt Striker: Taunting? What would taunting do anyway?
Trent Barreta: Matt, I thought you were a wrestler... We all know that taunting is the only way we can build up our special moves! Duh! So if I taunt a lot I will be able to store two specials and JTG and Curt would be done for good! I could even use JTG's taunt and his momentum bar would drain! Then I could heat their finishing moves on them! Oh boy! I always wanted to hit a heat seeking elbow! Slick strategy huh?
Matt Striker: Uhh...
Trent rolled his eyes.
Trent Barreta: Just go on with the questions...
Matt Striker: Tyler Reks has been determinant whenever he shows up... Remember that match you had with Zack Ryder and...
Trent Barreta: Dude, everyone knows you can hit Triangle on Universe mode and set an Interference... Also on the "Superstars" menu, you can set up allies, which I've already done... So if Reks shows up, there'll be someone to even up the odds... WOO WOO WOO! YOU KNOW IT!
Matt Striker: Tonight you will also face your former friend and Breakout champion Curt Hawkins...
Trent Barreta: I have a hatchet to bury with Mr. Hawkins, too. Apparently he can't go over the fact that I have been more consistent, luckier, faster, smarter... Call it whatever you want... Want to go ahead and say I use gameshark codes to cheat? Be my guest! Accuse me of lagging? I don't care... Sure, it sucks that he has stuck around for too long and has accomplished half of what I've done... But last time I checked Power leveling wasn't illegal...
Matt Striker: Power leveling?
Trent Barreta sighed.
Trent Barreta: Have you played World of Warcraft ever before?
Matt Striker: No.
Trent Barreta: I'll make it simple to you... The fact someone brand new and unboxed came into the EBWF, took out every single opponent he faced off against, picked up two pay per view victories and the Breakout Championship... Beating the freaking Undertaker! ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED! Me, being Breakout champ? That's power leveling... I'm stronger, A LOT stronger than I was on my previous encounters with both men!
Matt Striker: Uhhh...
Trent Barreta: So! Curt has been ranting, and bitching and moaning more than a Wii Fanboy since he lost this belt fair and square to me, but has he done anything to step it up? Has he had the decency to evoke a rematch clause on his contract? Has he tried a different strategy than cheating his way to victories or smashing that cane against his opponent's backs? BY THE WAY! Alex, from "A Clockwork Orange" called, he says he wants his gimmick back...droog.
Matt was speechless at Trent's sudden shift of temper.
Trent Barreta: What's wrong?
Matt Striker: I thought this interview was go...
Trent Barreta: Was going to be different? Did they tell you I was a happy-go-lucky guy? A Goody shoes? Someone who spoke in binary language? Games and Wrestling? No sir, not tonight... And NOT while I talk about Curt Hawkins, a man who has stabbed me in the back every time I've turned the other cheek like a good friend... You see, I tried to be calm about this, I tried to just get in his shoes... The frustration of not being on television, or having any matches at all... I tried to find the logic behind his actions... But to this day I haven't been able to. The time for consideration and turning the other cheek is OVER! I hold no grudge against Curt Hawkins, but we all know he doesn't like me anymore, he despises me... Perhaps he never even liked me! At the risk of sounding terribly cocky I would say he is jealous of me. He wants to beat me to a pulp? He wants to settle this score like real men do? FINE! I'M DOWN! But no backstabbing, no Tyler Reks and MOST IMPORTANTLY, no bitching or moaning if he loses... under those three conditions I'll have two words for him: CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.
Matt Striker: So there is no way you and him are going to be friends ever again?
Trent Barreta: He's a dear old friend... But aligning himself with Kane, and acting like a Sociopath is no excuse for not being a man and weaseling out behind your friend's back, cowardly hiding behind that golem Tyler Reks... I'm sick and tired of this, but I have a feeling Curt will stop at nothing until he gets me and my title... Which means we are destined to do this forever, like nemesisususueusues.... Ugh, you get the idea. I wouldn't want that... But hey, Luke didn't want his dad to be some evil sith lord... And in the end he managed to bring him back from the dark side, so who knows what will ever happen? Tonight, friend or foe... Curt Hawkins is my opponent, someone I have to wear down, hurt and pin to retain my title... I am determined to do it, why? Because I wouldn't want a friend to go lightly on me if I were matching up against him... It is always a pleasure to meet up with someone like Curt in the ring... He can hate me all he wants, but he knows we put out a pretty good show everytime we are there... Remember WrestleMania? Adrenaline flowing through our veins, excitement in the stands, people screaming their lungs out as three childhood friends battled it out? Let's make it happen tonight Curt...
Trent smiled and walked away from the scene as Warfare faded to a commercial break. After the Break the "MegaMan" Theme hit over the PA system and after a minor pop from the crowd, Trent Barreta walked out from behind the curtain, sprinting down towards the ring and sliding under the lower rope and onto a kneeling position... He jumped up and reached out for a microphone as his music faded.
Trent Barreta: Like dinosaurs or Atari... My goal in the long run is to leave my mark on this business and on the place that has taken me and has put up with all my antics and whatnot... I want to leave a mark on EBWF. As your Breakout champion I am delighted to come out here every night and work my ass off until I'm all out of PPs -Don't worry, I know more than four moves. On my quest to leave a mark on the EBWF I thought to myself: Trenty, you need a symbol... Something to tell people who you are, something people would instantly recognize you for... Punk is Straightedge, The Rock raises his eyebrows, Jericho uses long ass words... I needed a symbol to define me...
The lights in the arena dimmed slowly, Trent went on speaking.
Trent Barreta: What better symbol than a sacred relic? Something that represents the essence of the gods? Not the 'RASSLING GAWWWWWDS JBL used to refer to, but real Gods... A Sacred relic would make one hell of a symbol... Courage, Wisdom and Power are the elements that make this sacred relic... Courage to match up against any opponent who stands in my way... Power to endure punishment from even larger opponents and Wisdom to deal with the responsibility of being a hero... Ladies and gentlemen... This is a moment that will go down in history in the EBWF Universe... Now... With a Symbol I needed a way to materialize it... A way of making it real in my very unique way... So I went down and studied some basic chemistry and found out that indestructible metal we all have seen on television emerging from Wolverine's claws... Adamantium... It is now time for me to unveil the Breakout championship...
A shiny belt soon descended from the rafters in the darkness... A spotlight soon bathed Trent as he unhooked the belt and raised it over his head to a minor pop from the crowd... He rested his new title over his right shoulder.
Trent Barreta: This is me, making the EBWF Breakout championship my own... Giving it my vision, just like CM Punk did with the PTG Championship or Zack Ryder with the Zack Division championship... A Symbol... The mighty triforce which makes me the new hero in town... Made of the strongest metal ever forged by men... Adamantium, and worn by the one and only breakout star in this company... Me! This is me, telling Curt Hawkins and JTG that I hate to be the party pooper, but I plan to holding on to this belt for...
Trent looked at his wrist at an imaginary watch on his left hand.
Trent Barreta: Well, pretty damn long... I know wanting it isn't all that count but let's face it guys... You have met me in this ring in the past and you've been surpassed every single occasion! I mean, I can beat you both guys faster and easier than I beat Glass Joe on Punch Out! You guys have choked on how many times you've said you're bigger, more talented, more charismatic, better wrestlers than I ever would dream of being...
Trent tapped the triforce on his belt and smiled.
Trent Barreta: Well this belt says otherwise... This belt says I am a Breakout star... A main eventer in the making! You know why some of this people love me and care for me? Because they've been there, sitting in front of a TV, stuck with this thin, small and funny looking character... Obliged to make him stronger and surpass the odds! That's why the people identify with me, that is why they cheer for me and not for you! You guys think you're God almighty but have no pants to step inside this ring to back it up!
Trent Barreta: I've beaten you guys before to get to the pinnacle of this mountain... Do you really think I am willing to go quietly and without a fight? After I have unveiled the coolest wrestling championship belt ever made? That's as ridiculous as saying Castlevania II: Simon's Quest is a decent Castlevania Sequel!
Trent smiled a little at his remark.
Trent Barreta: You can screw me out of a rightful victory or win by pinning another guy in a triple threat match, you can go behind my back and attack me, you can break me with canes, punches and whatnot... You can throw the kitchen sink at me... But I won't go down, I won't stand down and I refuse to be bullied away from my destiny... From Greatness and epicness... EBWF needs a hero badly... Well fear no more because Trent Barreta is here, THE LEGENDARY HERO OF THE TRIFORCE HAS ARRIVED TO THE EBWF.
Trent's music hit as he climbed a turnbuckle to raise the new Breakout championship belt over his shoulders as the scene faded to black.
